d.Poly students pursue learning that will have value and meaning throughout their lives

High school should be more than something that is tolerated. Students spend four years on an academic treadmill disconnected from their potential and purpose. Educators work within rigid systems where their agency and expertise are undervalued. Families face disorienting choices, most of which offer more of the same. Everyone is ready for a better option, one that’s accessible, engaging, and expansive.

d.Poly is a compelling alternative to the status quo, a lower-tuition independent high school model for grades 9-13 that is designed to cultivate in young people the know-how they will need to navigate multiple pathways in life. d.Poly is built to unlock the self-knowledge that young people need to navigate the unknowns ahead.

By designing transformative learning experiences in partnership with youth and forward-thinking educators, d.Poly schools and their communities will prepare graduates to pursue their next chosen endeavor as self-aware community members who are confident, resourceful, and purpose-driven.

Our school design pillars include:
  • Student interests and community contexts drive project-based learning
  • Portfolios document a wide range of skills and knowledge
  • Cities provide opportunities to work with government, professionals, businesses, nonprofits
  • School day structures support deeper engagement and reflection in learning
  • Grades 9-11 cover core required content, grade 12 is a transformative launch year
  • An optional post-graduate year (13) strengthens life and professional skills

d.Poly is not another new version of what already exists. It is a fundamental rethinking of how high school works.
